Oh, and about that new special enrollment period for Obamacare👀

🔻🔻🔻 It is not clear how the government could verify taxpayers’ claims about when they first realized the implications of the tax penalty. But the pressure to create the new enrollment opportunity was clear. Democrats like Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas, who had urged the move, welcomed the announcement Friday🔻🔻🔻

Duh ya think?

🔻🔻🔻 The special enrollment period serves three purposes to the administration. It will increase the number of people with health insurance, a goal long sought by Mr. Obama. It will reduce the number of people who must pay tax penalties, potentially reducing anger at the White House and opposition to the Affordable Care Act. And it will increase the number of people who receive health insurance subsidies and thus have a personal stake in a Supreme Court case challenging payment of the subsidies in more than 30 states.🔻🔻🔻

Ah, now you know the rest of the story.

  1. That last paragraph you quoted was so honest, I’m amazed it was in the NYT. It ought to be on the evening news. This isn’t about health insurance. Here we are, naked politics. Open enrollment? That;s just a suggestion. We have a president who doesn’t obey the law… not even the laws HE wrote. Goodbye, sweet liberty.

  2. The Obama administration is trying to increase the number of Americans who are buying health insurance. You got a problem with that?

    1. No problem with the goal only with the methodology and hypocrisy of it all. There are 30 exemptions to having coverage already and now people who were simply irresponsible get yet another free pass. In addition, there are several groups pushing to allow women who become pregnant and who have not obtained coverage as required by law, to enroll after they become pregnant. When was the last time you bought insurance after you incurred the insurable loss?
