Could it be liberal policies have failed (except when it comes to gaining loyal voters)?

Could all this be true? Could it be there is a long history of policy failure? Could it be that liberal Democratic policies are trapping people not only in their misery, but in their voting habits?

Could it be?

Who runs and have run our largest cities with the largest concentrations of poverty and crime and disillusionment with our system? Who has created more programs to help low income people with apparent little to show for it?

This is the classic definition of crazy; doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS

Maybe it’s time to revisit all this

  1. Two random observations from my own experience:

Last week I saw for the first time in my life (I’m 67) a person of Asian heritage on the street begging. I have seen hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people in my life with their hands out asking for money. Most were white, for the first time one of them was Asian.

Down the street from me is a boarding house with 5 to 8 young Hispanics. They are gone from the early morning until evening working as laborers: lawn care, construction, painting, carpentry, et.

Family forms the bedrock of society and culture.

  2. No, Mr. Quinn, it is abundantly apparent and obvious to all insightful readers that the rabid racist Teapublicans are beating down the least among us and there will be many, many more Baltimores. Your Reich Wing beliefs are morally corrupt, evil and about 60 years behind the beliefs of the majority of educated and informed Americans. Blacks in the area of North Avenue and Pennsylvania Avenue in Baltimore have no jobs because the burgeoning corporate oligarchy outsourced manufacturing overseas, stashed their resulting profits offshore and paid no taxes. The Reich Wing Republicans will reap what they have sown and many more riots will ensue.

    1. You have a short memory Mr Wilson. The so-called Tea Party was formed in 2009. The problems we are discussing have a much longer history. The liberal/progressive policies and numerous related programs have been in place for decades to provide assistance from cradle to grave, to make things better for people like those in Baltimore. We must ask ourselves why we seem to have made virtually no progress. Certainly, the answers we seek cannot be found only in the last six years of political ineptness.

      1. OK, so these Reich-Wing proponents of oligarchy have been labeled “Tea Party” for only a few years. That changes nothing about the facts and the widespread demonstrations across the nation this very weekend prove my point. Close their schools, outsource their jobs overseas, deny them birth control, take away their food stamps and make it increasingly more difficult for them to vote. That’s the Republican agenda and they will rise up against it. Second amendment gun nuts will soon be very sorry that there are not background checks before guns are purchased. Republicans are creating a situation that will result in heir own deaths.

      2. But none of that has happened. More and more money has been thrown at schools, including Baltimore. Birth control is free (for no good reason), food stamps have expanded as has Medicaid in many cases. You are mixing rhetoric with reality. The reality is scores of programs have been developed and implement over the last fifty years aimed mostly at low income and minorities. Where is the progress? Nobody seems to complain about the lower prices that result from imported goods. The key is being ready for the 21st century jobs, not manufacturing jobs that will be done by people willing to work for a dollar a day. We want higher wages and lowest possible prices for everything. We want jobs of the type that no longer exist and never will. No matter who is setting policy or agendas, it just doesn’t work that way and never will. The U.S. Workers are competing on a world market like never before. Trying to cling to the past is a no win scenario. Anyone who tells you differently is not telling the truth. .
