Billionaire class

Old Bernie Sanders likes to speak against the evils of the billionaire class as if there are a group of people out there plotting to do you in.

There are a reported 536 billionaires in the US and about 1800 in the world.

Exactly what does he (and you) think these 536 people are doing to you? Given these people are billionaires mostly as a result of businesses and the accompanying stock. That means their wealth is dependent to a great extent on commerce; you and others being able to and actually buying goods and services from the companies in which they are invested.

How is it in their interest to hold you down and in the process kill the golden goose so to speak? Everything really is connected.

  1. Yes, Walmart sells products made in foreign countries as does Sears, The Gap, Old Navy, Target, Penny’s, Macy’s, etc.

  2. A lot are building their fortunes based on out sourcing production of their products or slave like labor, paying poverty level wages. Example Walmart.

    1. And thereby lowering the prices that Americans pay and in the case of Walmart many people depend on. You can’t have it both ways, higher American income and low prices. Of course, it’s not just Walmart. Look at the label in the clothes you buy anywhere or where appliances are made or the parts for the car you buy. It’s a global market now. Plus they don’t make a lot of money because of per unit price but rather the volume off units.
