Even in these acrimonious times let us not forget we are one nation and still unique among the nations of the world. Still one people living in a nation of the people, by the people and for the people.
Our freedom, our republic, our way of life is under constant threat. Let not that threat come from within.

In 1776 there were an estimated 2.5 million people living in what would become the United States. Fifty-six signed the Declaration of Independence.
The last signer to die was Charles Carroll of Maryland in 1832.
Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams, signers of the Declaration of Independence and presidents died hours apart on the 50th anniversary of the signing; July 4, 1826.

“A nation of the people, by the people and for the people.”
I wonder what Thomas Jefferson and John Adams would think of the nation and government we have become. A nation of by and for the Corporations and Special Interest.
