I am fortunate to be able to live in retirement with a good pension and Social Security. I worked for the same large employer for nearly fifty years. I don’t rely on investments for income.
Few retirees are so lucky and even fewer will be in this position in the years ahead. Rather most people will live in retirement on their Social Security and their savings.
Knowing how much you can use of your investments without running out of money or lowering your standard of living and worrying about gyrations of the stock market can be stressful.
If you are one of those people and in retirement, how do you cope, what do you worry about most, how have you made it work?
I’m not there yet but I really like this website… http://howmuchcaniaffordtospendinretirement.blogspot.com/
It’s how two actuaries are handling the problem, complete with spreadsheets.
