You’ve heard about the millions of struggling American families who need those stimulus checks to survive.
No doubt there are many in that situation, but instead of sending money with any semblance of need, politicians dump bundles of money from the sky.
Many of those are the same who favor need-based programs, including Social Security.
I found this list from Kiplinger fascinating. This list is not exactly how I would characterize “spending.” Stimulus you say? If you can do any of these six, I think we need a new definition struggling. 😢

- Pay off debt
- Give it away
- Put it in emergency fund
- Put it in a 529 plan

The stimulus is not about saving money for the future, it is about spending it. The banksters know billions of dollars have left the economy since crazy covid land 2020. By giving money to almost everyone, they know that 80% of it will be spent within 30 days and it will be right back in the banksters hands. All the extra spending will cause prices to rise, so then, when people buys on credit, the amount loaned is higher and the interest paid is higher over the length of the loan. A win win for the banksters.
Less travel, people working from home or not working at all, businesses closed, what a crazy world we find ourselves in, today.

Government’s around the world screwed the pooch on this one. The only way to stop a true pandemic is quarantine the sick, not let them continue to move about and infect others. ID the sick and put them in a facility where they can be treated. Closed schools, sporting venues, could of been used early on to stop the spread.

I don’t understand why we isolated the healthy after the first months once we understood what was going on. I didn’t understand why all the extra lockdown orders expired on January 4. They know that people still had Christmas and New Years gatherings so wouldn’t you need two weeks after New Years to be prevent the spread? Instead we keep allowing movement and infecting people in waves instead of normal day to day interaction.
I am against the stimulus for everybody. But I got it and I spent it. Half of my local businesses are still closed and the other have are at reduced occupancy. Most of my money went to the big box stores and then to China.
I would have rather seen direct loans and out right grants to small businesses and help for the hospitality industry. I’ll even support the airlines, because without them the travel industry will not have any customers. If these resorts and hotels are not around when they are finally allowed to reopen, we will have permanent unemployed workers. Giving extended unemployment where people make more money to stay home will just help these governors keep their states close and the voters dependent on the government.
Covid is real, don’t get me wrong, but the US death rate is <0.11% in the US and <0.2% in NJ. Will the cure be worse than the disease over the long term?
