Dear Members:
You are indeed a despicable lot.
You mislead and lie to get elected and then you mislead and lie to stay elected and you get away with it because voters don’t track your actions or accomplishments – more accurate the lack thereof.
You don’t give a tinkers damn about the people, but first yourself and then your party. You have not the courage to stand up for what is right if there is any conflict with your party. You play the game in Congress towing the line knowing there is no way to be held accountable.
You seek to make a career out of your position when that was never the intent of the Founding Fathers – yes they were men, but you may not recognize that if it gets in the way of political correctness.
You are a bunch of hypocrites always focused on politics. If your party is in control you are keen on spending to please the masses, if you are the minority you are concerned about the deficit – anything to get votes.
You refuse to tell Americans the truth about spending, debt and taxes and allow important programs to deteriorate in the process.
You propose “free” this or that to attract uniformed and low information citizens knowing full well what you are suggesting is not feasible.
You seek to create envy, jealousy and class conflict if it suites your purpose. You create scapegoats to enhance your propaganda.
You compare the United States to other countries often holding your own country in disdain and yet fail to present the full story in your comparisons and criticisms.
Many of you spend a career representing your constituents all the while accomplishing little or nothing except verbosity.
Yes indeed, you are a despicable lot incapable of telling the complete truth about anything.
R. D. Quinn
Seasoned Citizen with time to watch you
AMEN ! YOU are certainly saying the truth

We Hang The Petty Thieves And Appoint The Great Ones To Office – Aesop
I have been voting for over 40 years and things just keep on getting worse. I for one will never vote in our corrupt elections ever again. They only give us two choices Ripoffagians and Dummycrats. I am done, I will have a lot more free time as I will no longer have to pay any attention to their BS propaganda about how much better they are going to make things.
Just remember what Joseph Stalin said – It Is Not Important Who Votes, What Is Important Is Who Counts The Votes.
We know Joseph Kennedy had the MOB steal the election for JFK in 1960. The Supreme Court stole the election for GW Bush in 2000 claiming that GW Bush would be irreparable harmed if they allowed the counting to continue in Florida. Was Not Al Gore irreparable harmed by the courts action.
Double Speak is all we get from our government now, best to just enjoy what life we have left, because the government is not going to fix the problems of our country. The government is the problem.

And I thought I was cynical. Methinks thou doth protest too much. I believe there are a lot of intelligent, ethical, dedicated legislators. (Goes for the executive branch also, may as well throw in judicial.) They may all be limited by the system in which they work. Admittedly it may be hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.
And even the best of the best may have to make questionable deals, or stretch the truth sometimes.
President Trump acknowledged that he intentionally played down the deadly nature of the rapidly spreading coronavirus as an attempt to avoid panic.
OK, bad example, but it would be a good example if it were true.

Add Chuck Grassley of Iowa to this list. He’s been in the Senate 42 years, hasn’t accomplished squat, but is good at spewing political rhetoric and never standing up for the values he should represent.

Right on but what are we going to do about it. I’ll keep voting for my party and you will keep voting for yours. In 5 years someone else will be writing this, I’ll be gone.

Tomorrow’s letter will be how “we the people” keep voting these people into office. Voting for the party over the politician’s integrity. We are willing to give up our rights and money in exchange of freebies from them. Your assessment of Congress is right on. But they are not the problem. The problem is “we the people” do not take an active role in our government or more importantly do not even know how it works or what they are doing. Even Congress thinks that our country is a democracy and not a republic.
