You may be reading that the 2024 SS COLA will be 3%. That is the estimate the Senior Citizen League is putting out in the press based on the overall rate of inflation.
However, 3% will only be achieved if the CPI-W for August and September is above the CPI-W for July.
If they are the same, the COLA will be 2.7% . If they are lower in August and September the 2024 COLA will be less than 2.7% – the current figure.
