Mr Trump on Obamacare 2023

As you sift through the rhetoric and propaganda, keep in mind there is a big difference between healthcare and paying for healthcare.

Obamacare is not healthcare, Medicare is not healthcare. They are forms of insurance to help you pay for healthcare provided by your doctors and facilities.

Virtually all payment of healthcare is subsidized by taxpayers – Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, Obamacare, employer insurance, all are subsidized by taxpayers.

So, when someone says they are going to lower costs, they actually mean lower taxpayer subsidies or in the case of Medicare lower payments to health care providers OR possibly shift costs to individuals via out-of-pocket costs.

All have consequences.

  1. December 25: “Obamacare is too expensive, and otherwise, not good healthcare. I will come up with a much better, and less expensive, alternative! People will be happy, not sad!”
  2. December 17: “We’re also going to fight to give you much better health care. Obamacare is a catastrophe for American families, and it has been for years… Even Elizabeth Warren, did you ever hear of her? Often referred to as Pocahontas because of her great Indian heritage. Did you ever hear of Pocahontas? She said she was an Indian. She got into schools because she was an Indian. She got into schools. Think of it. She got jobs because she said she was an Indian until Trump came along and revealed the truth. But even Pocahontas says that it has to be fixed. She believes it has to be fixed. We’re going to make it much less expensive for people with much better health care, and we’re going to get that done. We almost got it done, but John McCain voted against it. That was a bad day. Remember that? Thumbs down after campaigning for 10 years, thumbs down everybody. Let’s put your thumb down. Campaigned for 10 years on it. And then he put his thumb down. So somebody will explain that to me someday.”
  3. December 16: “We’re also going to fight to give you much better health care. Obamacare is a catastrophe for all American families.”
  4. December 2: “Obamacare is a disaster and I said we’re going to do something about it.”
  5. November 29: “I don’t want to terminate Obamacare, I want to REPLACE IT with MUCH BETTER HEALTHCARE. Obamacare Sucks!!!”
  6. November 28: “Getting much better Healthcare than Obamacare for the American people will be a priority of the Trump Administration. It is not a matter of cost, it is a matter of HEALTH. America will have one of the best Healthcare Plans anywhere in the world. Right now it has one of the WORST!”
  7. November 25: “The cost of Obamacare is out of control, plus, it’s not good Healthcare. I’m seriously looking at alternatives. We had a couple of Republican Senators who campaigned for 6 years against it, and then raised their hands not to terminate it. It was a low point for the Republican Party, but we should never give up!”

  1. Al is right. And same thing with pre-existing conditions. If you have a condition or get one in the future, insurance shouldn’t have to cover you. That makes you a liability. Obama ruined the health insurance market. You should only have medical insurance if you have a job and are in good health. Obamacare and Medicare have to go – they are crutches for poor people and old people who don’t work. Let’s hope Trump can fix this in 2025 and get us back on the right track.

      1. Not joking. Sounds like “that” Charlie Kirk. First clue, he thinks Trump is telling the truth.

  2. At least he has the courage to tell the truth and make it clear to voters that he is going to cut their social security and take away their health insurance.

    1. Actually he keeps repeating that he will not touch SS or Medicare which will be a good trick without raising taxes. As far as health insurance goes he hasn’t a clue what he is talking about.

      1. I agree. He hasn’t a clue. But seems clear what he and Biden are planning, keep adding $2+ Trillion to our national debt each year until something breaks and we have a catastrophic financial failure – where either our savings are eroded when they print more money to monetize the debt via inflation or crap on our children and grandchildren with massive tax increases – or both

      2. All I know about Obamacare is the lies Obama told to get it passed and the deals they made to do it. POLITICO I believe called it the lie of the decade. Didn’t Barry say something like; “you know nothing will change with your medical care and provider but it will be $2,500 less expensive”.

I remember when they asked Obama about the big lie he said folks had not read Paragraph??? and Section ????. Okay Barry sort of like the big banks and mortgage companies who screwed over folks after they convinced them to take out those balloon type mortgages.

Who ever heard of keeping your kid on your policy to age 26? Get the heck out and get a job. Anyone here live with their parents at age 26 or beyond? I know of nobody unless a parent was severely ill.

      3. Obamacare was never going to meet the political promises of cost savings, but many more people have coverage. As far as 26 goes, I agree but that was a political compromise, just like free contraceptives which was unnecessary.
