How did the United States reach such a state of division?
The possibility that America could face another civil war soon is not too far-fetched for a lot of voters.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 41% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the United States is likely to experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, including 16% who consider such a scenario Very Likely.
Forty-nine percent (49%) don’t think another civil war is likely in the next five years, including 20% who say it’s Not At All Likely. Another 10% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Such discussions got a boost after the new movie “Civil War” made its debut as No. 1 at the box office last month. Thirty-seven percent (37%) of voters believe another civil war is more likely to happen if President Joe Biden wins this year’s election, while 25% think another civil war is more likely if former President Donald Trump wins. Thirty percent (30%) say who wins this year’s election will not make much difference in the likelihood of a civil war.

As far as I am concerned since November 3, 2020 only one person has been sowing the seeds of division and discontent, crying fraud and foul, using rhetoric to undermine our government agencies and judicial system, to divide Americans with xenophobic and racist undertones.
Only one who has been claiming we have communists in government and encouraging pseudo patriotism? Only one employing scapegoat tactics demonizing immigrants. Only one seeking to isolate America.

I don’t write here about the political left or right, Democrats or Republican or in favor of anyone.
I write about a dangerous, evil person who only seeks to make himself great in his own mind. I man who apparently will say and do anything to get his way.

Support the liberal or conservative approach to issues, but at least seek decent leaders.

Richard, I am hoping these commentators are just trolls that are following you and not serious contributors. Authoritarianism? Are you serious? Trump has already told us he wants to be a dictator. He has already told us his intentions, we need to believe him. I don’t worship any one person–that is paganism. The Republican party is endorsing a sex-offender on trial for multiple crimes who tried to overthrow the government and. I want there to be a Republican party. We need two parties. But I am ashamed of the current Republican choice.

We have had 4 years of Trump presidency and I don’t remember anything happening about a civil war, just a lot of disgruntled Dems. We got a tax cut and Joe offers a tax increase to cover his profligate spending.
This country is growing to be unmanageable with the population growth and young people trashing our past. That doesn’t seem to bother the Dems in charge. What does old Joe offer that you feel compelled to campaign for?

You coastal elites just don’t get it. Real Americans want a strong leader that can make it a Christian nation again. There is no more room for all the deviants or communists or so called journalists, and especially people who don’t follow Jesus or President Trump. Yes, he is going to blow it all up, and everyone is going to have to sacrifice, but in the end it is for the best. It is clear that continuing with this democracy BS will just lead to Civil War. Frankly our nation now is too full of people who don’t read the Bible or they support Satan’s party, the democrats. It is time to suspend the Constitution and move to authoritarianism, so we can compete on a level playing field with other nations like China. That is why the President has total immunity, but only Trump was smart and brave enough to realize it. You need to lose your Trump Derangement Syndrome and just trust in Trump and God, as that is the team that is going to save us.

I say we trade 500,000 hard right MAGA supporters like Al and Paul, to Russia for 500,000 anti-Putin dissidents. Then we can do the same with 500,000 more traded to China for 500,000 Chinese dissidents. And as I ask my lefty friends; what is “hard left” and give me an example–like is AOC and/ or Crazy Bernie Sanders “hard left”– what about just “left” is that all Democrats–I get confused by labels as the main stream media never uses “hard left” or “left”–they used to liberals I know until that was a dirty term–now they call them “progressives”.
