I found this story interesting. Is this what we call modern money theory? If I lost my job with a family I’d be focused finding a new job, not on a vacation.

Hey kids, I’m sorry, but with daddy losing his job, we are going to have to postpone our trip.
Six months ago, Alex and Aaron Taylor booked a six-day trip from Minnesota to Walt Disney World for their family of five over the Thanksgiving holiday. In late June, Aaron lost his truck-driving job, and he is still struggling to find a new one.
They decided this week to cut the Disney visit to a single day. They will be spending more time at the hotel pool instead (but haven’t yet told their children about the change in plans).

Bet they get there and that single day stretches to three.😃

I don’t think the 6 days in the hotel pool is going to cut it. Go ahead and do a couple days at Disney and maybe hit another park for a day or two. Go big or go home.
Employers are always looking for drivers.

may not be able to cancel everything if they are at a b&b, airlines, etc. so, may be trying to make the best of it.
I stopped criticizing people regarding experiences long ago – these days my 40 year old children talk about all the low budget trips trunked onto business travel to various locations around America.
and the other family vacations including Alaska in 2022 and ND, SD in 2019 – helping me cover all 50 states.
yes I “saved too much”, but found time/options to have many family memories.

It is not you. Many younger generations have an entitlement issue. It is all about me and that I feel good. They have no clue what sacrificing is. We are doomed and our government is feeding into this.
