Ultimate power

Since Harris took office – as Vice President? Ye gads, a new meaning to cause and affect.

I’d like to see how any politician affects car insurance.

But the issue is not the silly nature of this X post, but that many people see it as reasonable.

The ease at which the human brain can be manipulated is astounding.

  1. overrated dementia–why do you think there was a coup? everyone knows the guy is gone–I guess you believe in the tooth fairy also

Trump and inflation who knows–would Trump have screwed up the Afghan withdrawal encouraging Putin to invade Ukraine–pure speculation.

let’s deal in what did happen!!

    1. Politics…

With the exception of the Covid years, the last term has been very successful, despite what Trump claims. Trump has a plan, completely non specific, to cure inflation, the border, Social Security and Medicare. And now violent crime. Joe had no prayer of winning against the BS.

He has been rated by historians as in the top twenty of successful presidents. Guess who is rated in the four WORST presidents. If elected, Joe would have done an above average job IMHO, and Kamala would have succeeded him.

      Tail Wagging the Dog…

“President Donald Trump ordered a rapid withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Somalia in the wake of his 2020 election loss, but senior officials never followed through on the plan, according to testimony released by the congressional January 6 committee on Thursday.”

      I wonder why?

Kellogg, a retired Army lieutenant general, said after seeing the order he told senior staff the idea was “a tremendous disservice to the nation” and implementing it would be “catastrophic.”

Trump literally belongs in prison. I hope I live long enough to see it.

I’d like to see how any politician affects car insurance. – Simple, make the cars more expensive, add a bunch of mandates, and watch the cost of repairs and replacements increase. Had a minor fender bender, had to replace rear fender, only cost $1,600 (earlier this year).

But the issue is not the silly nature of this X post, but that many people see it as reasonable. – Even my wife, a staunch hater of Trump complains about the cost of stuff everytime she goes to the grocery. Bought seven cans of tomatoes and paid $1 each – paid less than $.50 per can just four years ago.

The ease at which the human brain can be manipulated is astounding.

Sure, just go back earlier this year to see these quotes about President Biden:

Senior adviser to the president Mitch Landrieu – on “Meet the Press” recent criticisms of President Joe Biden are “just a bucket of B.S.”

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas offered a similar defense, calling Biden “sharp.” “The most difficult part about a meeting with President Biden is preparing for it because he is sharp, intensely probing and detail-oriented and focused,” Mayorkas told “Meet the Press.”

Vice President Harris: “And the president was in front of and on top of it all, asking questions and requiring that America’s military and intelligence community and diplomatic community would figure out and know how many people were dead.”

Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if he was indeed, as sharp as ever. The press secretary maintained, “He is as sharp as ever, as I have known him to be in my engagement, in my experience with him.”

Pelosi says Biden ‘very sharp’ “Anyone who would think that they’re at some advantage because of his age thinks that at their peril, because he’s very sharp,” she continued.

Aren’t Pelosi, Harris, and others the folks who recently finished him off?

Amazing at how easily the American brain can be manipulated. I can confirm that Marsha Blackburn is a hell of a lot closer to reality than Pelosi, Harris, Pierre, Landrieu, and Mayorkas.

Clearly, we know who is lying to America and no, it isn’t Marsha Blackburn.

      2. of course Biden might have joined him except special prosecutor said he was too old and demented to stand trial for his crime of sharing national security files with his biographer–oh sure academics rating demented Joe as a successful now that I take seriously–

his Afghan withdrawal was a horror and I guess he learned little from the generals–certainly emboldened Putin

telling Putin that a partial invasion of Ukraine was maybe acceptable so guess what we got

millions poring across the border which the academics and main stream media ignored until the election was upon them–

crime in the cities out of control while they told us to defund the police–

of course inflation which they unleashed with the spending they did in spite of folks like Lawrence Sommers warning them about inflation.

Joe could not win because he was old and demented and folks like you and others tried to convince folks he was perfectly fine–talk about scamming the public!!

tell me? who makes presidential decisions now as the demented one doesn’t know the day of the week–get him off the teleprompter and and he is a goner.

      3. great post Benefit Jack! Just loved the quotes. Talk about deceitful folks who would, and did, say anything to hope to hold onto power!

  2. of course it is silly–anytime folks like brother Quinn post figures from the senator like that but don’t tell us that the other side does the same thing you know you someone is a political hack.

if you can take credit for all that is good why would you think those things that are negative shouldn’t be at your footstep?

I heard Sec. of Transportation this morning telling me how great all has been under Biden/Harris–what about inflation? Like Quinn he tells us it is a worldwide (really means G-7) issue–check unemployment in the G-7 and it is very low in many of those nations–so if inflation is a G-7 issue “so don’t blame us” how come unemployment is about the same in most of those countries so “why give us credit”?

Gas prices and electricity costs are affected by regulations and these folks love to regulate–if you are openly hostile to fossil fuels why would you think gas prices and electricity would not jump in price?

Heck, I was at Wegman’s yesterday and wanted a top round cut in 4 thin slices and the asst. butcher hesitated saying OSHA regulations prohibit them from using the “saw” to do it and if they did it the butcher has to do it manually. We both laughed but even a simple request is hung up in a federal regulation.

Have any idea of the regulations that drive up the cost home building? Houses now have to be “green”. There are rules on gas stoves as an example.

Quinn tells us that “tax cuts” were one cause of inflation–well, how come there was far less inflation under Trump who, along with Congress, reduced taxes? Reagan slashed taxes during the worst period of inflation of my lifetime and he and Paul Vockler (Fed chair) crushed it for more than 40-years–I suspect crickets from Quinn!!

Just back from Stop & Shop and a dozen eggs I bought were $4.19–yikes!!! Not special eggs like “organic” or “cage free”–just store brand large eggs. One drink I buy is down from a month ago but higher than a year ago.

Blackburn is smart–she is telling folks that what they buy is costing them more and the folks who take credit for what they say is a great economy are not at the Piggly Wiggly or Stop & Shop–in fact they want price controls which we know worked so well under Nixon–Breznev–Castro–Maduro–the woman is a dolt just a step ahead of the demented one.

  3. Quinn, you need to wake up. Prices are up under Sleepy Joe and Kackling Kamala. If you don’t see that, you’re not paying attention.

  4. Why would you say it’s a silly post. The prices are up. No? Harris was in office as Vice to a dementia afflicted guy who operated a full blown woke operation. Harris is now running on that record. Car insurance rates may not be tagged onto Biden/Harris except for the potential number of undocumented aliens who may or may not have insurance. That does affect car insurance rates.

Hold onto your hat for the next 4 years. It is looking like a wild ride and you will have plenty to post your rants about.

    1. And you seriously think that Harris or even the administration caused those prices, not effects from COVD, global events, even adverse climate activity all of which are documented? Of course, tax cuts and stimulus checks which Americans joyfully accepted over the last 7-1/2 years added to the ability to spend and to impact overall inflation.

      Like

      1. The supply shortage complaints were over years ago as is the Covid shutdown. Adverse climate activity is laughable. The stimulus checks caused inflation because they were paid out on borrowed money. Inflation is caused by excess money floated by the government. I don’t blame Harris specifically other than as a sideline cheerleader for Biden. She could be tabbed as a co conspirator. If she wins, you’ll see what I’m talking about. More spending and no accountability.

      2. No–but they are responsible for all the good news according to them and you??? So, all the positives belong to Biden/Harris and the negatives to the price gougers and I guess the American people–they tell me the Dow is at an all time high–what did they do to create that scenario?

When you dump money, as they did, into the system it, like water, has to go somewhere–maybe to equities–what about real assets like gold (is it at an all-time high? why??)–real estate (depressed prices or high prices right now?)–see a pattern here–how about art work?? oil prices depressed or robust?

sounds like Quinn is making all kinds of excuses–next thing he will tell us is that immigration border busting was not abetted by Harris (border czar) and the administration–nope, it was caused by global warming and nothing done by tweedled dumb and tweedled dee had any effect–just innocent bystanders.

all the bad things caused by Covid–global warming–global events and documented according to brother Quinn–really??? point me, ever gently, to the documentation.

according to brother Quinn we, the citizens, are to blame because we had money to spend on goods and services pushing up prices–well, pray tell, where did all that $ come from? did the tooth fairy have a special delivery since 1/20/2021?

    2. But the obvious question is, IF Trump had remained in office, would the inflation have been lower? And claims of dementia are highly overrated.

      Like

      1. No reason to think so, no administration has that much impact. This is a global world and much affects us over which we have no control. However, if Trump follows through on what he has said he will do, much of that is inflationary and adds to the deficit which eventually will be inflationary.

      2. Stephen, long time no post. We will never know what the inflation rate would have been had Trump got a second term. The dementia tag on Biden may be overrated but something sends him to lala land when he tries to put an extemporaneous sentence together.
