We want lower taxes while we have also have high debt and excessive spending.
We want higher taxes, but only the wealthy need pay more.
We want secure retirements, but do little to make that happen.
We want lower prices and lower inflation, but reject global trade and accept higher tariffs.
We want to save the environment, but reject renewable energy, even deny climate change.
We want a great country, but do our best to tear it apart.
We ignore cause and effect and long term consequences.
We embrace extremism and ignore compromise.
We complain about all aspects of healthcare, but reject the most obvious solution of a universal system.
We embrace nationalism and isolationism and expect to be a great nation in a global world.

1. if you assume we are under-taxed maybe that’s your conclusion–federal tax/state tax/property tax/ Social Security and Medicare tax/sales tax/excise taxes /taxes on dividend and capital gains// and I am probably leaving many out. Of course never any; “here is where I would cut spending”.
2. Of course playing one group off against another. One of the big lies that never get explored.
3. Seems to me we have plenty of folks who take retirement seriously and there are many methods used for that purpose. Our streets are not filled with folks who did not plan for retirement.
4. So low tariffs and global trade promote growth and low inflation–what evidence do you have ? Inflation ran wild in the mid 1970’s through maybe 1985 and I never heard Reagan or the Fed chief complain about tariffs, in fact Reagan slapped them on the Japanese auto industry. Remember the 1986 campaign; “It’s Morning in America”–“4 more years”. Today the dim witted VP wants to “turn the page”–on what I say? We sure don’t hear 4-more years.
5. Hell, we are going gangbusters with renewables–I look out my window at roofs with solar panels–I get calls nightly to take advantage of tax credits. Of course we need fossil fuels and the dim witted one has endorsed fracking (now why the change?) so it takes time. Use your Google machine to see what is happening in Germany with there crazy policies on renewables. Of course there are deniers–didn’t
Stacey Abrams deny her GA defeat? Hasn’t Hillary told us she’s the legitimate president? Didn’t our dim witted border czar deny the country was overrun by illegals and the corpse was full of vim and vigor? So
deniers are everywhere for every issue.
6. Of course there are folks tearing apart the country–watch them burn cities–tear down statutes–tell us we were founded in 1619 by the issue of slavery, and on and on. I was impressed by the Democrats at their convention waving little flags–usually they burn flags.
7. Ignoring cause and effect? Ok, whatever that means I agree.
8. We ignore compromise and embrace extremism? So much of this is made possible by a media that no longer tries to be fair/balanced/and give us facts. If they can find a fight they will lead with what bleeds. Take the witless VP who tells us on day one 2021 they sent over to Congress HR 1–a bill on immigration–it was actually an amnesty bill and though her party had both houses, the Senate refused to even bring the bill to the floor.
9. You and the witless one (well she’s not in favor any more–why??) want the one size fits all health care system–you want to do to healthcare what we see the VA do and the Post Office and on and on–remember the $2,500 Obamacare policy–and you can keep your doctor–wonder why folks don’t trust the government?–and now Medicare for all–get the witless one to endorse that policy, but she did and then didn’t–what does she know that you don’t know.
10. What nationalism? Is loving your country and our freedoms nationalism? Requiring people to come into the country legally–is that nationalism? Isolationism, I would agree is not where we should be going, but there is an element that supports it, but always has.

Gee whizz… you failed to mention a slight tidbit, Mr. Quinn. It’s the mass media that feeds us highly distorted and sensationalized propaganda, disguised as news, to dumb us down and become highly polarized! Damn the media!!
