Something is happening in America – I’m very afraid

  1. The ‘boiling frog’ effect highlights the need to stay alert and think critically about small changes that happen gradually. It is a reminder to stay alert and not become too comfortable, because the loss of rights and freedoms can happen gradually and might be hard to notice until it is too late to fix.

  2. No threat to democracy. All the sore losers think Americans are stupid and they are smarter. No, us smart Americans will not lose our freedoms. We are finally getting our country back in order. Next Mr Quinn will start complaining about the 7,000 criminals being sent packing. Oh, Selena Gomez was crying. But was clueless who Laken was.

  3. You are finally getting it. America is cooked. I am not saying that Trump is an agent for China, but I am saying that if he were, his actions would also be identical to what they are now. American is now a mob-owned restaurant and he is burning it down for the insurance money. All the checks and balances that kept him from destroying everything during his first term, are all gone now. He is the Hugo Chavez of America.

Hugo, like most dictators, first took control of the communications, I just heard CNN criticize Trump for his recent press conference after the crash. I guess next week you think it will be Trump Broadcasting System–TBS #2.

Didn’t a Reagan appointed judge just stall his plan to pause spending on certain non-profits? Isn’t that a good example of checks and balances.

Vern, certainly you can do better than that screed.

try articulating some common sense ideas which is what some folks in the Democratic Party are trying to do–if you think there are more than 2 genders you get what you get–

if you think RFK is not the person to lead the health care then state it but don’t insult folks just realize others think differently–I think I would vote NO on RFK and maybe no on the Defense Sec. last week-

try to avoid thinking folks are low IQ because they see things differently–these folks were told to absorb college loans for students who somehow feel they should not pay–try to understand how others perceive a problem–

do you think the folks in Eagle Pass wanted their community overrun by illegals–schools crowded–have to hire teachers to translate–look to Mayor Adams when they were dumped on his doorstep–boy did we see a change.

I have no problem criticizing Trump or his issues–why are criminals pardoned for beating on cops–but what about the 2000 riots when cops were also beaten from Philly to Portland –if you can’t recognize that people see the hypocrisy then you have an issue but lock up assault and battery folks no matter where.

try looking for common ground and common sense–there is an election in ’26 and if Trump and policies become unbearable he will go down just like the liars and loons did in ’24.

avoid the Quinn and buddies propaganda machine–listen to other points of view–Quinn decries propaganda unless it is MSNBC or CNN then we hear the world is collapsing–democracy is dead–Hitler is back joking with Obama–

these folks are laughable but on the other side we have such figures–best to inoculate yourself against both.

take a good look in the mirror with the rest of your buddies–

folks lied and denied cognitive decline that we all saw years ago–and then staged a coup–you didn’t hear the reporter from Politico tell us he was told from the top to drop any mention of the corpses’ decline??–now he tells us–now we hear from all over that folks were aware of the decline but hated Trump so much they forgot they were reporters not advocates. Hell, you had the media other than Faux lined to lie so folks like you could be deceived.

folks lied about Russian collusion–folks lied about Hunter’s laptop–folks lied about about immigration (“what illegal crossings that’s Faux News”) then telling us that if you disagreed you were a racist bigot–

folks lied about inflation telling us it was Putin–it was shortages say folks like you–when it was too much $ printed up to fund give away programs–why do you think it is the Fed fighting inflation now and in the 1980’s under Vockler–it is a monetary issue–print up the $ and you have issues

well, of course there are more than 2 genders and if you deny it you are a bigot–some lefty locations on birth certificates now allow TBD (too be determined)–Voting Act passed by Dems but filibustered well Jim Crow 2.0–you guys are racists.

DEI programs mandated by the Feds if you want a federal contract or take federal dollars–great way to divide folks–race and gender become primary and merit is secondary.

What’s even funnier is that the swing states that went red are populated by low IQ folks (according to you at Thanksgiving) –want to bet these are many of the same folks that booted Trump out in 2020 but your constant lies and insults about immigration/inflation/cultural issues brought them to Trump in ’24–in 2020 you and and your buddies didn’t insult them then–and if they turn on Trump in ’26 these same dim witted folks (according to you) will no longer be dim witted in your eyes–“they’ve seen the light!!!

Just think if you had employed some common sense and criticized some of the obvious lies you were hearing your image in the mirror might be different.

I know it is heart breaking for you and friends to see illegal (what does that mean?) immigrants being rounded up by ICE and deported but if you commit a crime out you go–heck, you broke the law by being here.

  5. America has been changing for decades, aided and abetted by technology. Technology is at the point now where you can be spied on and influenced without your knowledge it is even happening.

Another thing that bothers me is the way people lined up like sheep after 9/11. In the old days I would see a movie and the uniforms would say “papers please” and I would think what a terrible place to be in. You would have to have papers on your person at all times and be spied on. Now it is here and has been almost all this century. People gave up willingly.

Eventually we will see a totalitarian government, I don’t know if it will be a dictatorship or the oligarchs will take over. The ground work has already been done.

didn’t I ask you to defend some of your statements a few days ago??? don’t be afraid to tell me what you think I misstated, exaggerated, or am totally wrong about–I told you then to just list them, maybe just a brief explanation of what I got wrong–

I am amused at folks who, when pressed to defend their position, seem to run and hide–makes me think they have a tough time with basic facts.

Trump the dictator–you mean like Castro–Stalin–Madero–Putin–no free elections–spying on people–any evidence of dictatorship so far or just a strong feeling you have?

well of course you make it up–you have to–I mean where else would you find the following:

“tax cuts add to the deficit & stimulate the economy which is inflationary” (1/21/25)–any proof? not all tax cuts are alike–which are inflationary (are there any) and which are not? now if someone has trouble understanding inflation (high prices are a symptom) then it is tough to defend anything dealing with inflation.

How about; “the border was never open” (1/21/25)–oh really–what was it? millions came illegally and walked right in–just ask folks on the southern border. Millions came and were released into the country. If the border was closed why the executive order a few months before the election?

“Deporting illegals is inflationary” (1/21/25)–prove it is what I said and I had never heard of that before–you probably mean prices of certain goods will rise but if $ isn’t being printed (M2) people look for alternatives–if I can’t afford a navel orange maybe I buy a banana.

“tariffs are inflationary” (1/21/25)–no proof of course–Argentina–Sudan–Turkey are three countries with very high inflation, there are numerous others–what role do tariffs play?

        So defend what you say!

I simply asked for proof–how do you know?

That could be a reason the other folks (you) lost an election–the average guy sees folks poring across the border in the millions and is told “the border is closed” We need illegal immigrants or inflation would be higher which translates into “breaking the law is just fine because we all benefit by it”.

      4. There is plenty of evidence to support what i write. I spend many hours researching from a variety of non political sources. I use primary sources when possible. I try to confirm a item from more than once source.

      5. which means you personally don’t have a clue but there is something out there (just go look for it) that defends your statement “tax cuts add to the deficit and stimulate the economy which is inflationary”. Just one example of what I quoted you saying–you can’t defend it other than stating there is evidence out there showing that.

so sitting at a bar making that statement and someone calls you on it you could not explain it but would send someone to their Google machine to find the response– to be honest I am not surprised.

you might want to consider sticking to health care topics.

      6. Go to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget site for analysis on the subject or even the CBO. Give me a little credit. Tax cuts historically have not created additional revenue to pay for themselves. If you can find any source that says the last tax cuts did not add to the deficit, I would like to see it.

you might go to a CATO publication about 18-months ago.

        First Trust Economics blog.

the most obvious is the GDP numbers which I have shown more than once that compared to five years ago (2019) when we also had a very healthy economy pre covid–the numbers, as I have pointed out, show that spending is the problem, not revenue–revenue coming into the Treasury is at record levels but spending is out of control.

you could argue that baseline spending ( Medicare/SS) is a big generator of that spending and will not be reduced and only grow–but raising taxes, say to pre 2017 levels, will slow the economy bringing in less revenue. in my humble opinion.

if, as you have stated correctly in my opinion, that tariffs are a tax–paid for by consumers–harm the economy–then raising taxes will not, in my opinion, grow the economy–it will slow it down thus less revenue and the baseline spending is built in along with other expenses.

I would like to see taxes left alone and start to work on reducing spending–Chairman Powell I heard this weekend on C-SPAN taking questions last week from business reporters–he talked about rising rates could slow the economy–maybe we move into a recession if the Fed is not careful and then you have rising unemployment–less tax dollars–and a growing deficit.

It is a dilemma but tax cuts I would argue helped juice the economy but with spending on covid and baseline spending was responsible for a good chunk of the deficit.

if high taxes were the solution then blue states might be our most prosperous and not bleeding businesses and people to red states.
