ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR? Guess what it describes?

Authoritarianism: Centralized control by a single leader or party, with limited political freedoms and suppression of dissent.

Nationalism: Intense national pride and belief in national superiority, often with a focus on historical grievances and territorial expansion.

Cult of Personality: Charismatic leader seen as embodying the nation’s will, with propaganda used to create an image of infallibility.

Propaganda and Censorship: Control of media and information to promote an ideology and suppress opposing views.

Economic Control: State intervention in the economy to serve national interests, often with corporatist or protectionist policies.

Suppression of Opposition: Use of force and intimidation to silence political opponents and maintain power.

Xenophobia: Fear and hostility towards foreigners or minority groups, often used as scapegoats for national problems.

  1. “Under the felony murder rule, a defendant can be liable for murder if a death occurs during the commission of a felony. The defendant doesn’t need to be directly involved in the death.”

“There is no question” Trump remains “practically and morally responsible” for provoking the Capitol riot.

Ashli Babbitt and several police officers died as a direct result of his actions. He sat and watched for over three (expletive deleted) hours.

When asked about his inaction, he replied “…I wasn’t responsible for security. Nancy Pelosi was responsible. She didn’t do her job.”

Remorse? None. Instead, he wants to convict Michael Byrd for murder.

What does this have to do with Authoritarianism, et al.?

‘Our’ president is immoral and crazy.

If you call that TDS, you are in denial. He should have been in prison years ago. There was no weaponization or lawfare (there is now). He is guilty as sin, and more people every day are beginning to realize, or admit that.

  2. Does it look familiar? I could say yes to some items. However, on a sliding scale we are not a dictatorship nor are we ruled by a communist party. Trump is bombastic and oversteps presidential authority but has push backs by courts, democratic leaders and public opinions. No where does that step up to the extremes of the items on your list. As for xenophobia, we get along pretty well at the grassroots level in this country so that’s not an issue.

We’ve had circumstances like now come up all through the 20th century till now and we are still here. Take a deep read through the political history and presidential terms from Woodrow Wilson till now. You will see what I mean.

      1. Maybe you meant 4 weeks not years.

With no examples you lack credibility. Anyone can google or AI fascism or communism and list characteristics.

I have issues with the big guy and then I consider the alternatives.

Isn’t it great someone is looking under the hood and actually doing something. Just like the old days when your company laid off and/or fired folks.

      1. It pretty much describes Obama – with the exception of Nationalism, of course, and Xenophobia.

In what world do you thing that Trump controls the media?

Suppression of the opposition? – They tried to keep him off the ballot and other forms of “lawfare.”
