“just get over it” –if they snuck in they get to stay- you cheat and you win.– yikes!! -what other laws folks break are they able to evade prosecution? I thought nobody was above the law and the law applies to all of us. Different strokes for different folks I guess- it’s let’s get from purple to blue as fast as we can.

Excellent points per usual Jack–Garcia as we now know is a wife beater and now the poster boy for the left–talk about folks out of touch.

Well, the goals are simple–stop the illegal flow of immigrants from the south which we have done in just a brief time–the opposition could have done the same but was determined to turn red states purple and then blue.

Folks here illegally, millions allowed by the previous administration, have to leave.. Seems obvious that you come in illegally you have broken the law–so now you leave as we are “a nation of laws” as the opposition party never stopped reminding us–and “nobody is above the law” –unless we got in the way of their plan.

A $36 trillion deficit needs to be trimmed. Best way to do this is to grow the economy by reducing regulations, and keeping taxes low. Recently we reduced regulations on shower-heads (can you believe there were 13,000 words on shower-head rules?), toilets, stoves, and other appliances. The bureaucrats have to keep busy so telling others what to do is one of their objectives. There are more crazy regulations out there than you can possibly believe.

Do we need 2.3 million workers? We need to trim our bloated bureaucracy and of course the party of government is going nuts about that. Nothing more than losing their constituents and donations but time to get serious about trimming spending. Painful but necessary like what is done in the private sector.

Tariffs could change the world economic order so that we play on a level field. Right now we pay a tax when we export to certain countries but these same countries pay little or nothing to export their goods here. Let’s try to working together to solve the problem and negotiation begins with high rates of tariff, but with time and face to face dialogue progress will be made.

Remember, none of this needed doing if the previous folks had done anything to resolve the problems. But with a demented leader and a desire to spend as much as possible without raising revenue, or being serious about the invasion by illegals, we find ourselves in a tough situation.

When do we see progress??–well, on immigration you see it already. It’s going to take time especially with the entrenched bureaucracy to tackle other problems–the other folks had 48 months and we have done more in just a few months than they accomplished in their 48.

So, lets see what happens going forward.

    1. It’s a $3 trillion deficit. $36 trillion is total debt.

It would be a big mistake to force all illegal immigrants out. It would be in our best interest as a country to allow all but the criminals to stay and work, especially if we are rebuilding manufacturing.

We need to get over how they go it and leverage their value. There were 12 million here ten plus years ago and i know of no harm to our society.

      1. No. They don’t get to jump the line. America needs to decide who should come to America.

There are certainly some who have come to America who would be in a position to make a positive contribution. Get in line to enter legally.

It is long past time to search out employers who employ illegal aliens and to penalize them severely. We will not solve the illegal immigration challenge without enforcing the laws already on the books. Similarly, we need to return to the appropriate application of the parole process.

        https://thehill.com/policy/national-security/5237720-trump-immigration-crackdown-dhs-parole-protections-migrants-biden-cbp-one-app-southern-border/

It is also long past time to change our own immigration AND refugee policies to limit entrance and to welcome only those whose application for admission confirms that they will make a favorable contribution. Regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, etc., first in line should be those who have skills we need, who would not be eligible for and who could not access government support services and funding, who could and must make a positive contribution, and who are law abiding.

We do not need the unskilled, the uneducated, the criminals, who have come to America illegally – many claiming refugee or asylum status … others, like Garcia, the current issue, who came illegally, never requested asylum, until, in 2019, facing deportation, an immigration judge granted him “withholding of removal” status—a rare alternative to asylum.

Everyone who crossed illegally or overstayed their visa who didn’t stop at the border and claim asylum, gets sent back (as was a distant relative of mine, who overstayed her student visa after marrying a green card holder and having two children here in the states).

Everyone who claimed refugee/asylum status needs to have their case heard this year, 2025, and a decision made. Concurrently, Congress needs to change the labyrinth of asylum/refugee laws.

We need to curtail entitlements and welfare given that labor force participation of men has declined from 87.4% in the 1950’s to 67.8% today. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNS11300001 while the labor force participation rate for prime age men (ages 25 – 54) has declined from about 98% to 89%!

And, even assuming that we can prompt some of those men to return to work, our economy still needs 1 – 2MM LEGAL, skilled, healthy, immigrants per year – if only because of the decline in birth rates.
