That would mean 52 million Americans would not pay any taxes. I don’t suppose that would impact the federal deficit or state revenues.
Note that 202,000 rather ignorant people say they like the idea.
Nobody has paid their dues, taxes are an ongoing obligation.

I thought the stupid folks were the ones who didn’t believe we were being invaded by illegals–our border was closed just a year ago–that the president had no cognitive issues–that he didn’t have prostate cancer–that millions of illegals were a positive for this country–that Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation–that the wealthy paid no or little in the way of taxes–
yes, lots of stupid people with a lot of stupid ideas just ask crazy Bernie or AOC or consult the Hamas wing of the Democratic party.

Paid their dues? This isn’t a college fraternity. Seniors owe because they live and consume American resources. Let’s not forget that they are the biggest drain on federal resources by far of any age group. If anything they should owe more, not less. The entitlement is wild.

Your parents are, or were, a drain on American society? How much did they add to our country’s resources during their 35-40 years of work–did they fight in World War 2–Korea? Vietnam? Iraq?
I should owe more says you–someone seems to have been affected by wacky weed–seems to me we paid what we were told to pay and accrued the benefits we are entitled to.
Nobody asked me if I wanted to participate in the Social Security program–now I do not do Medicare but I paid for it–maybe that coves the “A” portion that is “free”.
Give examples of entitlement you or your family do not deserve.

No or low cost education, affordable housing, decades long efforts to reduce taxes at the expense of future generations, massively excessive consumption, tremendous asset growth—y’all have had the greatest tailwind of any group in American history, so don’t stand on the soapbox built from “hard work.” The generational that’s been benefitting from growing the national debt for decades has little to stand on when it comes to paying back loans and owing taxes. Y’all made this mess. We’re all in the boat, so everybody is pulling, like it or not.

Massively excessive consumption?? Are you serious? Young people today consume far less than seniors??? What type of consumption do you feel was so excessive? Who should decide what anyone should consume? You??? If obese folks consume more food will you and your friends monitor their weight and food intake?
Asset growth?? Worldwide countries that adopt free enterprise have seen great growth in assets–why not–have you heard of technology–I believe their is more technological power in your cell phone than was in the early moonshots. Assets grow as technology creates more wealth and leisure.
National debt yes– supporting education–health care–tons of poverty programs and we could go on and on. Yeah–too much debt–you should pay up in taxes–your free ride should end–get out of the bedroom in the basement–get a job–contribute.
We made the mess??? Not you or your family? No, you are just an observer.
Maybe some time in Cuba would open your eyes to the what happens when folks are restricted from creating wealth and making for a better society. Ever wonder why there are no boats in Havana harbor?

If the US can get away with paying millions to third world countries for transition sex changes when those countries need food and housing then we can find the resources to help our retirees and divert monies to support programs like SS and Medicare here in the US. Those trans payments were on addition to monies already given to those nations for food and housing. Make a positive difference in someone’s life today. Bill Mitchell
