This is the man Trump wants in charge of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is the legacy of Project 2025. These are the people wanting to kill Social Security.

This is nonsense. After 90 years suddenly it no longer works? These claims and proposals are ridiculous. The program will remain viable if we want it to. . A few relatively minor changes can make it sustainable.

Trump and his minions don’t want it too. They want private accounts, they want government out of everything under the naive, nay stupid belief that each and every American if “empowered,”can fend for themselves. The history of mankind tells us that is not true.

E.J. Antoni

And unless you are going to grow the number of investors at an exponential rate, that system is eventually going to collapse. Well, since we can’t grow the workforce at an exponential rate, especially today when our population is actually in a state of decline, you’re not going to be able to sustain a Ponzi scheme like Social Security,” Antoni continued. “Eventually you need to sunset the program.”

No you don’t‼️

Antoni said current benefits need not be touched, but future retirees should not rely on the program. He advocated for transitioning to a system that uses private accounts “for just them.”

“There’s plenty of money available to pay for folks who are already retired,” he said. “But the people who are going to retire 10, 20, even 30, or certainly 40 years from now—I’m sorry, but the program is not going to be viable at that time.”

Antoni argued for “some kind of transition program where, unfortunately, you’ll need a generation of people who pay Social Security taxes but never actually receive any of those benefits,” he continued. “And that sounds harsh, but unfortunately that’s the price to pay for unwinding a Ponzi scheme that was foisted on the American people by the Democrats in the 1930s.”

You said you would strengthen Social Security for future generations.

Maybe our population would not be in such a state of decline if instead of mass deportation of undocumented immigrants and workers, we found a better way for them to help us sustain, if not grow, our population of taxpayers. I guess that’s hard if you are xenophobic.

Writing on Truth Social regarding Antoni’s appointment to the BLS, Trump said, “E.J. will ensure that the Numbers released are HONEST and ACCURATE.”

That will be unique from the MAGA minions, “honesty.”

What was it Trump said about Social Security? On August 14, 2025, Trump signed a proclamation marking the 90th anniversary of the Act. He praised the program’s legacy and declared an intention to “strengthen” Social Security for future generations. And yet, he supports the far rights views to dismantle it as we know and rely on it.

If Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme, so are our governments.

Project 25 ideology??? more TDS sickness–

I know I’m pissed off as equity markets have crashed since January 21–I’m afraid to go out at night thinking I will end up in a Nazi like concentration camp and with energy prices skyrocketing filling up my tank drains my wallet–of course you and buddies who let in (broke the law) millions of illegals now complain mightily that extraction is fascist–you create the problem and now take no responsibility for it.

if SS was a private retirement system run by someone we will call Bernie Madoff, would it, as currently constituted, be considered a Ponzi scheme–only reason it is not is we know the Feds will at some point step in and save it with money and new funding dollars.

the old fart liberals added to the original system like it was a Christmas tree and then forgot to pay for each present.. “oops we got to fix what we broke” (see illegals above)

Galveston, TX did not join the SS system in the early 1990’s when, under Reagan & Greenspan the law changed and you could, as a govt. entity, opt out. Seemingly few if any problems–went through the 2000-2010 without a hitch–now, unlike SS, the higher wage earners earn a proportionally larger pension–and there are other differences, but knowing it is your account makes it popular–when you die, I believe the assets go to your beneficiary, much like a 401k or IRA–

we can and should do better for our grandchildren–SS has become another government program that is broke and millions don’t care why it is in its current condition–just that political machinations have them wondering if they will be beneficiaries.–

  2. You’re jumping from BLS to Social Security. Not the same departments. The guy could do good at BLS, who knows? His comments on Social Security are just that, his opinion. He won’t be in charge of SSA.
By the way, immigrants won’t solve the SSA deficit by themselves. They come in at different ages, different income levels, bring family members in and they all eventually qualify for benefits. There really is no free lunch as far as Social Security funding. A well thought out immigration plan would probably benefit us and them in the long run but not a helter skelter jump the border fiasco.

    1. Nobody at SS can change the law, but you are missing the point, the larger picture. He is reflecting the broader view of the administration driven by the Project 2025 ideology. That’s why there should be concern.
