Forget Republican or Democrat. Forget left or right. Forget liberal or conservative.
Focus on the one person leading our Country.
Don’t focus on his policies or lack there of.
Focus on his speeches, his writing, his behavior, his bullying, his lack of integrity, his lack of common decency toward people.
Haven’t you noticed his need for accolades, for stroking his ego, for power and control and his inability to withstand any criticism, his desire for revenge and using your government to help him?
What about his barely concealed racism, Islamophobia, xenophobia or misogyny?
Just look and listen.
This is not normal behavior. That is not the type of leader we need or can trust.
Does he display the values you admire? If you are a religious person, any religion, is Mr Trump’s behavior consistent with the teaching of your religion? I doubt it.
Nobody is perfect, we all have our faults, but Mr Trump is exceptional and hurting many people, destroying careers and shaming our Country.
He displays no empathy, no self control.
Does his behavior represent how you raised your children to behave?
Is he the type of person you would welcome into your family?
If Mr Trump’s behavior doesn’t concern you, please tell us why. 🤔

CNN, it announced yesterday, had reached a new low in viewership–averaging just over 600,000 daily, less than the 800,000 for MSNBC, and of course Fox crushes them all in every timeslot. The media and the Democrat Party (one in the same) are at record lows in approval–folks hate Trump but you folks are so out of it you score even lower.
What to make of a party that pays a consulting firm to help educate folks like you to talk to regular folks? You really want drag queens in a 4th grade library class? Birth certificates that read “M”— “F”—TBD (to be determined)—boys in girl’s bathrooms–tampon dispensers in boys bathrooms–boys in girls sports. Loons and wacky folks all in one party.
Won’t even go to the violence on our streets that Trump just revels in as he looks strong while the opposition defends criminals and illegals.
What are the 15 terms you are no longer encouraged to use? Maybe you missed that if you are in the left wing bubble–my lefty friends miss all kinds of events by being in the bubble. Check out the recent DNC meeting in the Twin Cities–I liked the opening when the Lakota woman called us racists and imperialists and wanted the Lakota land back–we love hearing loons like that.
I say to my lefty friends–“go for it” the more you talk the better it is for us–the lunacy is beyond words–did I read the new NYC Socialist/Communist Mayor wants to eliminate gifted and talented NYC classes for young students. Just what is needed along with free bus rides and government run (Soviet style) food stores. NYC will survive as it always has–DeBlasio and his wife you would think were bad enough.
So, you are right but try to keep your folks from using term like Hitler–storm troopers–fascists–Nazi–racists–bigots. Come up with programs to help solve the mess you created; millions of illegals–schools that don’t work because of the NEA and AFT (vouchers/charters work)–social programs that are bankrupt–ACA that was born on a lie.

I understand your anger, Al, and much of it is justified. However, it is important for us to apply the same standards to Trump and the Republicans that we should have applied to Biden and the Democrats. Biden was obviously impaired, but so is Trump. One cannot justify Trump by saying that Biden was worse. We need to deal with the present and not with the past, no matter how bad it might have been. We need to demand better from both sides.

my annoyance of course is when it was going on for 4 years and more where were the critics of Biden and the other folks. Sort of like the Epstein Files–nobody cared back then but now it is newsworthy–I would also say the MAGA folks are the ones who want the files released because, in my opinion, they want to see Bill Clinton’s name on the list–be careful what you hope for!
But, I agree with you that we need to demand better from both sides and Trump is in charge and not to divide us but try and find common ground–not that he wants to do that–he really has major character flaws and finding common ground is not in his DNA.

The difficult thing here, Al, is that in order for there to be any progress toward sanity, both sides must be able to recognize and fight the excesses of their own group. This is very difficult as we have become very tribal, and criticizing the orthodoxy of your own party can cause one to become ostracized. We have to look for common ground, and if necessary compromise. Right now, compromise is looked upon as weakness, when it actually is the only way that we can move forward. People need to try to understand where the other party is coming from, and try to listen to voices from people with whom they disagree.

No one should be surprised to see riots and political shootings when the commentary about the current Administration is laced with Nazi, toothbrush mustaches, threat to democracy and other such claims – what is intended by the initial post here.
With respect to what the idiot ass Trump says, just like Biden, I change the channel or turn off the TV, shut down the laptop, turn off the phone and the radio.
However, so long as you and others continue to post stuff like this, or worse, expect the riots and shootings to continue … not sure how anyone thinks that helps.

Was it my request that we look for common ground and compromise? I am simply asking you and others to apply the same standards to Trump that you applied to Biden., And to be clear, the Democrats should apply the same standards to everyone as well. We need to start ot look at what each of us and our tribe has been wrong about, Republicans and Democrats. The country depends on it. Rantings about the other side while ignoring our own faults will do little to advance our common interests.

The initial post was Dick’s post, here, and many other times over the past nine months when he has alluded to Hitler, Nazis, etc. Go back over the past year or two and see how many times Trump and ICE/CPB and others were portrayed in that way by Democrats – stormtroopers, jackboots, etc.
Did anyone ever accuse Joe Biden of being Hitler, or a Nazi? Anyone ever suggest that when the Democrats deployed the National Guard to Chicago during the 2024 Democratic National Convention that it was authoritarian?
