We can’t control what others do and we can’t stop misfortune from striking. But we can control our own actions. Those who are financially prudent will most likely enjoy success, even if events don’t always go their way.
Today, no, of course not. After having paid excessive income, FICA, FICA-Med, State and other taxes for 55+ years, I’m now partially dependent on Social Security and Medicare.
Only if they had never been enacted – Medicare, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credit, SNAP, worker’s compensation, unemployment compensation, etc.
Had they never been enacted, everything else being equal, my net income would have been at least 25+% higher over the past 55 years, and my accumulated wealth today would be three times, 300% of what it is today.
