I recently listened to a social media post saying “while we don’t like Trump’s behavior and language, we absolutely love his policies and agenda”
That raises an interesting question, what exactly are Trump’s policies and agenda?
But a more critical question is what policies and agenda items are in the sustainable best interest of every American and our Country?
If you have an answer to that question, please share it. But consider the following.
Donald Trump has never done anything in his life which benefits anyone more than himself.
In his own mind everything he is doing or claims to do feeds his ego and builds what he sees as a lasting legacy of greatness. He can’t even accept the reality of actual approval ratings or look beyond his ardent MAGA followers, beyond what he wants to believe in the divided nation he has created more than any other individual.
I suspect if Americans understood where is policies are headed, they would not be so happy. In fact, his policies are following the agenda of Project 2025 which is very clear if you read the available portions of that document.
In essence the agenda calls for much smaller federal government, fewer or minimized social support programs, lower taxes and greater reliance on individual responsibility-“empowerment” as they claim.
The problem is most Americans don’t understand what that means in real life.
You can get a hint from Trumps declaring a great new health plan where individuals can take cash and “negotiate” their own health care insurance.
You can see it in the fact that making Social Security and Medicare sustainable has been ignored even made worse by Trump policies when both should be a top priority. Despite him saying he will always support Social Security and Medicare, it’s been ignored so far in both his administrations.
You can see the disregard for individuals-and our country-in immigration (including legal immigration) and tariff policies both of which are not in the long-term best interests of Americans or our Country.

His efforts to ignore or manipulate our laws should be concerning, but some Americans see it more like just git er done and applaud such behavior. That is what undermines a democracy.
Trumps international policies for America are a throwback to the 1940s and 50s when the rest of the world was rebuilding from the devastation of war or still living as if it were the 19th century while America was the exception, but those policies are not in our best interest in the 21st century.
Withdrawing support from the United Nations to feed his ego is not in the world’s best interest. Isolating the US and bullying other countries is not in our long-term best interests. Withdrawing from international organizations and cutting foreign aid is not in our interest and very short-sighted.
But you see, this is how Donald Trump thinks – me first, last and only and this is projected in his agenda for America.

AL Lindquist:
good stuff Jack–the clowns you mentioned left quite a few problems to deal with–if Trump would grow up he would judged differently on so many issues, but if he persists in this foolish behavior he will bring in our socialist friends.

I think Trump is an idiot and an ass. I think he is frittering away his second administration, just like he did his first.
However, when you ask about his policies, you have to assess that against “his most recent predecessors”:
Obama – Health Reform which added tens of trillions to our national debt,
Obama – Failing to enforce his red line in Syria. In 2012, President Barack Obama declared that the Syrian regime’s use or movement of chemical weapons was a “red line” that would change his calculus for military intervention. Following a massive 2013 sarin gas attack in Ghouta, Obama opted against immediate strikes, instead partnering with Russia to dismantle Syria’s chemical weapons stockpile – a massive failure of creditability. Attacking then leaving Libya in the lurch,
Obama – Withdrawing US troops from Iraq, allowing the “JV team” ISIS to gain a foothold – President Obama’s January 2014 analogy compared ISIS to a “junior varsity (JV) basketball team” wearing Lakers uniforms, suggesting they were dangerous but not equivalent to a professional “varsity” threat like al-Qaeda.
Biden – 9% inflation, nuff said!
Biden – Botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, from 2023 Congressional report of the Inspectors’ Generals: “… For 20 years, Americans, American allies, and Afghans fought and died in a war to help Afghans create a country free from the Taliban’s control. In August 2021, Joe Biden lost that war. There was no exit with dignity. It was a panic, and 13 American service members were murdered by a suicide bomber. Today the Taliban flag flies over Kabul. There is no American military base there. There is no American embassy there. There is no hope there, especially for women and girls who are now terrorized by the Taliban. This is Joe Biden’s legacy. …”
Biden – open borders, Total Nationwide Encounters: More than 10.3 million to 11 million. “Gotaways”: Estimated 1.5 to 1.8 million individuals were observed crossing but were not apprehended. Migrants Released: Perhaps 6 to 7 million as only 4.7 million were expelled, deported or otherwise removed (according to CBP and ICE reports).
Trump could done so much more that would have been in the mainstream, including winning reelection in 2020.
Trump – During the first term, all but eliminated ISIS,
Trump – Consistent economic growth until COVID
Trump – Corrected and strengthened NATO funding,
Trump – Renegotiated NAFTA replacing it with the USMCA, and launching a trade war with China, with 21% tariffs, (which Biden continued) to push for structural changes in international trade, intellectual property protections, and increased manufacturing reshoring.
Trump – And whether we like to admit it or not COVID vaccine development in record time.
Trump – Second term, the jury is still out on various actions.

Trump has done nothing to the sustained benefit of Americans or our country. He thinks nothing through, he acts without consideration of consequences, his administration puts the rule of law at risk.
Obamacare did not live up to the hype nor could it, but it did extend coverage to millions and since we are closed to a real solution, it’s better than nothing.
There never was an “open border”. There have been 10 million or more illegal immigrants in this country for decades and only when the political opportunity arose did it become a scapegoat target promoted with lies. We talk about the law, felons and don’t question Trumps pardons of violent felons.
The Trump administration is incompetent and corrupt. There is no excuse or justification for this man and his behavior and what he is doing to our country and the global order.
What is most disturbing are the Americans who support him and his actions and behavior and claim this is what they voted for.
In reality they voted to be made fools of.
My comments are not promoting or excusing the actions of anyone else currently or in the past. That is irrelevant and to do so is a kindergarten mentality.
We have put a dangerous, unstable person in charge.
It will take years to recover, if we can.

You asked: “what policies and agenda items are in the sustainable best interest of every American and our Country?”
I gave you a list of issues where the idiot ass Trump did better than Biden and Obama. As someone once said, don’t compare me to perfection, compare me to the other guy.
Please tell me which of the policies and agenda items that you would choose the Obama or Biden outcomes over Trump outcomes.
OB Syria, Afghanistan over T ISIS?
OB immigration Dreamers and open borders over T closed border
OB health reform MASSIVE DEBT and FRAUD over T inaction other than starting to address Medicaid FRAUD.
Yes there are other areas where most predecessors did better than the idiot ass Trump. But, that isn’t what you asked.

My issue has nothing to do with the past or anyone else. I see nothing
Trump has done. Not tariffs, tax cuts, health care, immigration, debt and deficits, Social Security, Medicare, encouraging cooperation and bipartisanship, our global standing, international agreements, the environment, clean energy or maybe just providing an example of leadership and integrity. Following the goal of Project 2025 he is consolidating power and governing through executive order.

Sorry, for the most part, he is doing stuff he campaigned on, what a significant majority of Americans voted for. I didn’t vote for him but that’s how the system works. Didn’t vote for Harris, Biden, Obama, or Clinton either
spare me your tears about executive orders and consolidating power. He had two good instructors – Obama and Biden, others showed how to leverage /weaponize the Justice system – Comey, Holder and Garland.
