The Iran Deal

This is what the Iran deal says:

What Iran agreed to do:

Limit uranium enrichment to 3.67% purity for 15 years (far below weapons-grade levels, which are roughly 90% enriched).

Reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium from about 10,000 kg to 300 kg.

Cut the number of operating centrifuges from about 19,000 to roughly 5,000–6,000.

Convert the underground Fordow facility from an enrichment site into a research facility.

Redesign the Arak heavy-water reactor so it could not produce significant weapons-grade plutonium.

Allow extensive inspections and monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

What Iran said about nuclear weapons
Iran reaffirmed in the agreement that it would “under no circumstances ever seek, develop, or acquire nuclear weapons.”

OH, MY MISTAKE, THAT IS THE TEXT OF THE 2015 agreement.

All we REALLY had to do in 2026 was continue monitoring and assure the agreement was extended indefinitely. That should have been easy for a master negotiator.

It sure would have been better than US and global economic disruption, the creation of food shortages in parts of the world, deaths of innocent people, depletion of US weapons costing hundreds of billions to replace, hundreds of billions of dollars in damage and an ok to attack other country signal given to Russia and China.

Way to go Mr President
