November Election – be vigilant

This November’s election will be one of the most important in our history…because we have a president actively trying to undermine our confidence in the outcome.

His constant drum beat about fraud, cheating in elections (only by the opposition party, of course) is intended to create skepticism about November’s outcome even before the vote takes place. It seem obvious that Trump is concerned about losing control in Congress.

Trump does not like to lose, His malignant narcissism won’t allow it so he will do anything to win, including misusing federal agencies for his benefit.

At first glance, the Trump administration’s deployment of more than 200 F.B.I. analysts to Georgia this week seems to be another stubborn assault on a fact that has refused to budge: Despite the president’s baseless claims, no evidence of fraud in the 2020 election has ever surfaced there.

But critics contend that it is just one piece of a broader effort to sow doubt about the electoral process itself and the integrity of elections to come. And no matter how often President Trump loses in court, he continues to use the machinery of the federal government to investigate or try to overhaul the nation’s election infrastructure to his benefit…

“It is incredibly concerning,” said Marisa Pyle, a senior staffer with All Voting Is Local, a nonpartisan advocacy organization. “We’re heading toward very consequential elections and they, whether intentionally or not, are using this both as a tool for relitigating past grievances and trying to undermine people’s confidence in the system to keep people from voting.”

I hope I have the right papers, couldn’t find my birth certificate in time.

Another part of the strategy seems to be painting Democrats as anti-capitalist. Social media is inundated with posts claiming Socialism, even Communism aligned with our social welfare infrastructure (SNAP, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.). These are scare tactics and the abundance of this message says to me someone is behind it.

Considering this rhetoric from our president:

“You can be a communist, or you can be a patriot, you cannot be both,” Trump said in front of the monument in the Black Hills of South Dakota that has long caught Trump’s attention.

The president said the American identity is under a renewed attack. “There is now a resurgence of the Communist menace in our land—including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life,” he said. WSJ 7-4-26

Scare tactics pure and simple. Exactly what is our way of life? It sure isn’t close to the Trump way of life, financially or in any other way.

All this propaganda works on low information, lazy thinking people. Especially people who feel they pay too much in taxes, even though they don’t.

The thing is, a strong social safety net system has nothing to do with Socialism or Communism. Denmark, with one of the strongest social systems, has a capitalist economy. Socialism is the government controlling and owning the means of production.

Every time Trump coerces a public company into giving a portion of ownership or profits to the federal government, that is closer to Socialism than helping feed the poor.
