Egomaniac, self-aggrandizing, narcissist?

If this man spent as much time working for every American and the many fiscal and other problems facing our country as he does satisfying his ego, we and the world would be much better off.

Trump has paved over the Rose Garden, decorated the Oval Office with countless golden fixtures and demolished the East Wing in order to make room for a massive ballroom.

He has added his name to the Kennedy Center and the U.S. Institute of Peace, moved to take over its public golf courses and is now pursuing his archway.

And let’s not forget the commemorative $1 coin with his face.

Private businesses are not required by federal law to accept them, so individual stores can choose whether or not to take them.

The proposed 250-foot marble and gold-plated structure is planned for Memorial Circle on Columbia Island (at the intersection of Memorial Bridge and the path to Arlington National Cemetery), directly across the Potomac River from the Lincoln Memorial.

It would dwarf the nearby Lincoln Memorial (which stands at roughly 99 feet) and feature a winged victory or Lady Liberty statue on top.

The estimated cost is at least $100 million

And for our white evangelical Protestants in the Trump camp.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18)

God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6; see also 1 Peter 5:5–

Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11; 18:14)

“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3–4)

Paul criticizes those who “commend themselves” and measure themselves by themselves, calling it unwise. (2 Corinthians 10:12)

  1. Do you have a problem with the separation of church and state, or with the First Amendment in general? You are free to criticize people for their positions, of course, but if I were you, I would avoid challenging their faith.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

  2. What about the Catholics, the Jews, the Hindus, the Muslims, etc. “in the Trump Camp” – aka MAGA? Where is your criticism of those folks?

What about the Evangelicals, Catholics, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, etc. “in the DSA Camp”? As much of a threat (abolish Senate, abolish Supreme Court, close prisons, open borders, deficit busting Medicare For All (yes, way the hell beyond $2 Trillion a year!), and in some ways, much, much, much more, even greater stupidity that that pursued by the idiot ass Trump.

    1. As I’m sure you know, white evangelical Protestants overwhelmingly support Trump. 81% of White evangelical Protestants voted for Trump in 2024 according to Pew Research. They are the most vocal, they are the ones erecting a golden statue of Trump.

My point, which is hypocrisy, would apply to any person claiming to religious.

      1. There must be some other people out there who voted Trump. Per Christian Witness, 23 % of white adults identify as evangelical Protestant of which 24% of that group usually vote Democratic. So you are talking a very small tail wagging the dog.
