Who created higher prices and inflation?

“The Federal Reserve raised its benchmark interest rate at the conclusion of its September meeting after consumer prices rose again in August amid the war with Iran — and despite continued pressure by President Donald Trump to bring rates down.

In an effort to tame inflation, the central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee, led by Chairman Kevin Warsh, raised the federal funds rate by one quarter percentage point to a target range of 3.75% to 4.0%. The move is expected to ripple across the economy, with consequences for everything from credit cards and car loans to savings accounts.

I must say, it is encouraging that the Fed appears to have done the right thing even in the face of pressure from Trump who now has to acknowledge the state of the economy – not that he will of course.

    1. First, that is irrelevant to 2026.

Second, you do recall the reasons for that high inflation?

Nothing Biden, Obama, Bush or anyone else did is relevant. Referring to them as some kind of excuse is childish metooism.

Third, of course everyone had a problem with 9% and during final months it was 2.7% to 3%

It’s not a matter of left or right, but a matter of common sense, facts and circumstances.
