Income tax was introduced on a temporary bases to fund the Civil War and was made permanent with a Constitutional amendment in 1913. To say this meme is misleading is an understatement.
To claim taxation is theft is simply ignorant.
To claim people are paying up to 37% of their income on taxes is a misrepresentation. Nobody pays 37% of their income. Even the effective income tax paid by the top 1% does not reach 37%.
The effective income tax rate for a single person earning $300,000 in 2026 is about 22.7% even less for a couple.
The highest bracket is 37% and with investment tax is 40.8%. She is not lying.

The tax bracket is not what people pay, what they pay is their effective tax rate. The tax rate applies to taxable income not gross income. Even incomes $300-$500 thousand have an effective tax rate of around 18% or so. She is intentionally misleading and when she claims taxation is theft, what is she doing? Worse than lying! What is the purpose of such a post/claim. Attacking taxes and ignoring what they provide is a political ploy aimed at the uniformed, especially now.
She also intentionally misleads when she refers to the Civil War era tax and fails to mention that in 1913 Americas supported an income tax because it was fairer than funding government with tariffs which favored the wealthy.
