But not true and very misleading. Never mind, people want to believe what makes them feel victims and politicians are more than willing to help.
The median annual wage for chief executives was $185,950 in May 2020. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $62,780, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $208,000.Bureau of Labor Statistics
What politicians spout off about is the total compensation of some of America’s largest companies – where most Americans don’t work.
Since most of their compensation is stock awards of some type, shareholders are footing the bill.
The fact is CEO pay has no impact on workers. Don’t believe me, try this. Take the CEO compensation of a S&P 500 company – I used Verizon as an example. Divide it by the number of workers and see the impact on each worker if the CEOs pay was given to them.
