    1. If it makes you feel any better, in 1981 I had a 18% car loan and 10% mortgage in 1986. I also paid both of them off without asking any Presidents to forgive my debt.

      1. I also had one of those 18% car loans. My mortgage rate was slightly lower as a first time home buyer.
