In 1973 the average price of gasoline was about $0.39. Fast forward adjusted for inflation and today it would be about $2.83 – pretty close to what it actually is.
But there is more…
The “Real” Cost of Driving

While the inflation-adjusted price of gas today is slightly higher than the 1973 average, driving is actually “cheaper” in one sense: fuel efficiency.
- In 1973, the average car got about 12–13 mpg.
- Today, the average new vehicle gets closer to 26–30 mpg.
My car gets over 40 mpg on the highway using a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine.
So what are we complaining about?

Who is complaining about gasoline these days, except for the times it heads north of 3 dollars per gallon. The last big blow up was when Biden tried to run the price through the roof.

No!! the truth–just think of the cost without state taxes–been to CA recently at $4.50 in San Diego–Biden’s a memory of times past and his allowing 10,000,000 to invade–telling Putin a minor incursion might not be an issue–of course his dementia was so obvious except for those with TDS.

Show us any evidence that Biden let 10,000,000 in the country. If that were true there would be over 20 million now given there were 10-11 million here before he was elected.
What exactly is your problem with immigrants illegal or otherwise? Yeah, illegals are felons , but so is the person you probably helped elect our president.

I have no trouble with legal immigrants and nobody I know does–no trouble with legal guns–no trouble with folks legally driving their auto–why your love affair with illegals? Are you assuaging your guilt for having so much and others having so little? Any other federal laws you think folks should be allowed to break? Just list them.
Our felon president? Let’s see he was not tried for the classified papers at his Florida home nor was the demented one for his papers in Del.–I want to know how he stole some of them from the skiff when he was a senator? That was quite a feat–Sandy Berger (Burglar) got disbarred when he stole classified from the skiff for brother Clinton. I know the demented one has no memory so I will never know how he pulled that one off.
Trump in NY which was a joke and won’t stand any impartial appeal–just tell me who the aggrieved party (ies)? Who got cheated? Letitia campaigning on getting one man–ever hear of that before?–want the Attorney General in NJ to campaign on one theme; “I will bring charges against young Mr. Quinn–just elect me.”
Georgia–they so messed up any case they thought they had– dismissed–Fannie having an affair with a lawyer she hired was not smart.
You can use your Google machine and with encounters and illegals you get 5-to 10 million. take the lower # for those for years and it is still is rotten. Follow the law–obey the law–Trump is no exception.
Remember, you just elected another socialist loon in NJ so run one of those in ’28–maybe you will win–nobody thought Trump could win in ’16–go with Crazy Bernie, or Pocahontas maybe Jasmin or the CA governor (he’ll do for us what he did for CA) how about AOC –you got a whole lot of wack jobs to chose from–“men can have babies”–“we demand pronouns”.

Encounters are not let in, they are encounters and most returned. Biden did not let in 10 million or anywhere near that.
Trump is doing what he can to stop all immigration including cutting highly skilled Visas.
We need immigration, need a way to leverage their labor and taxes. We need a way safely to make sure those here find a way to legal residence to do that. Our general xenophobia is short- sighted and not in our best interest.
Trump has spent years fostering hate via misinformation and outrageous claims and still does.
They are here illegally for sure. Others who committed worse crimes have been pardoned by the same person who claims the illegals are terrorists, rapists, murderers, and taint our blood.

Based on your comments I’m pretty sure you don’t know what a socialist is. Socialism is not having strong social safety net programs, it is not Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, child care, SNAP or any of that.

“…the three measures of growth in real output, of the unemployment rate, and of consumer price inflation are important and are a common focus in assessments of the economic record of a period. They receive a good deal of attention in the press and by the public.”
“Trump’s economic record in his first term, in contrast, was relatively poor. It was not the worst among the post-World War II presidential terms, but in terms of growth it was around the bottom third mark.”
Redux: But, Biden… “According to a Rasmussen survey released on Tuesday, 56% of likely U.S. voters disapprove of Trump’s performance thus far in the White House.”
“When asked who did a better job as president, 48% answered with Biden and 40% answered Trump.” And we don’t have Mark Milley around now to keep Trump’s finger off the nuclear button because he didn’t get (five) Nobel prizes.
