Neither the far right nor the far, far left are viable or in the best interest of anyone.
They represent a naive, unworkable and unsustainable ideology, but there are people who believe it all. People looking for their utopia as a way to solve their problems.
A Quinnscommentary reader sent (see comments) an interesting link to Democratic Socialists of America agenda.
It’s pretty scary stuff, it’s nonsense, but just like the Trump propaganda, too many people will accept it without thinking of the consequences or conflicting logic.
The Republican Party has not yet rejected Trump, let’s hope Democrats do a better job rejecting the Socialist extreme.
Here is a sample of the DSA agenda. A true route to chaos and disaster.

One has to wonder if the corporations are publicly owned, how does anyone become wealthy?

People work less, are paid more by corporations owned by government while all essential services are “free.” to individuals.
And then there is the small matter of paying for all the promises and functioning in a world where many people see things differently.

All we need is for the rest of the world to cooperate.

This is just what we have been waiting for.

Love the cartoon of Xi and Putin. Exactly what I’ve been saying. They probably divided the world between them on a cocktail napkin.

Sorry, members of the DSA are already prominent members of the Democratic party – Bernie, AOC, Pocahontas (at least in terms of government control over everything), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Cori Bush (D-MO), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).
Others in the squad lean so far progressive that they have a pinky toe or a whole foot in the DSA tent – Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Greg Casar (D-TX), Summer Lee (D-PA), Delia Ramirez (D-IL)
MAGA Republicans include: Lauren Boebert (R-CO), .Jim Jordan, former leader of the Freedom Caucus (R-OH), Paul Gosar (R-AZ), Scott Perry, former chair of the Freedom Caucus (R-PA) and Andy Biggs (R-AZ). Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz have exited Congress, stage right.

You seriously believe they fit that mold and ideology?

They say they are members of DSA, why shouldn’t I believe them? I believe the MAGA folks when they tell me they are members of the Freedom Caucus.
Obviously, you and I don’t agree with every position in the Democratic or Republican party, whichever we might belong to. That’s why so many people are now “Independent”.
Some of us comfortably move back and forth among those three categories because we are interested in getting moderate folks into the general elections – not the far right or far left folks who increasingly win primary elections.

There are no sitting U.S. senators who are confirmed members of DSA. While Bernie Sanders identifies as a democratic socialist and has close ties to many on the left, he has never been a DSA member. Likewise, Elizabeth Warren is progressive but not a DSA member.

Given their endorsement/embrace of DSA candidates and members, you may put them in the group with only a foot in the DSA tent, not me. When you welcome them into the Democratic party, it becomes a distinction without a difference.

There seems to be difficulty distinguishing between a socialist economic system, radicals as per the position of the DSA as expressed here and a strong social safety net. Sanders and Warren certainly favor the latter, but i don’t think they want to abolish the Senate, have corporations run by government or defund the military.

Newest DSA congressional candidates for the 2026 midterms include Claire Valdez, who defeated Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso; Darializa Avila Chevalier, who ousted five-term Rep. Adriano Espaillat, and Brad Lander who easily beat two-term incumbent Rep. Dan Goldman. Each of the progressive folks were bested by the DSA candidates. All of the DSA candidates have been endorsed by Bernie, Liz and AOC. Keep in mind that AOC herself ousted Joe Crowley.
Bernie and Liz will have to join more of the DSA stupidity over time, or potentially get outsted by them in a future primary.

Neither Senator Bernie Sanders nor Senator Elizabeth Warren is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). They may be strong on social progressive programs, but they are not socialists especially as outlined by the extreme DSA. As shown by Denmark, you can be a capitalist country with strong social programs.

Sorry, Bernie, Liz, AOC have all endorsed DSA candidates, embraced them, so, perhaps you can justify putting them in the group with one foot in the DSA tent, not me.
