We can’t control what others do and we can’t stop misfortune from striking. But we can control our own actions. Those who are financially prudent will most likely enjoy success, even if events don’t always go their way.
Not the wage cap, but the tax rate.
Else, you have embraced the stupidity of the envy Democrats and Progressives and members of DSA who think someone else should pay for benefits I receive.
Stupid, stupid, stupid stuff – where Congress will likely continue to improve benefits to suck off any new revenue in order to buy votes. Reminds me of::
“Don’t tax you, don’t tax me, tax that guy behind the tree”.
Or,
“The best tax is the one I owe and YOU pay!”
More importantly, unless you cap benefits, removing the link between wages subject to taxes and wages used for calculating benefits, even if you somehow preclude the beltway idiots from improving benefits, a la Biden most recently, the taxes on higher wages will increase benefits and reduce the favorable funding from increased taxes.
As we all (SHOULD) know from various estimates, you can remove the cap on wages for tax purposes and it won’t fully resolve the funding challenge, indefinitely.
Only the stupid believe that a small segment of American wage earners (the 6% or so who have wage income in excess of the FICA tax base) are in a position to fill the funding gap Congress created over decades of abuse and vote buying.
