The Reality: Federal agencies weren’t receiving handouts; rather, they used routine procurement contracts to purchase subscriptions to Politico Pro and its energy/environment subsidiary, E&E News, to track policy. 

Administration Action: Prompted by the online claims and pressure from allies like Elon Musk’s DOGE initiative, the White House announced the cancellation of over $8 million in government-wide Politico Pro subscriptions.
